Young And The Restless Scoop: Michael Baldwin Raises A Glass Of Champagne

The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Monday, January 10 suggests a standalone episode dedicated to Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc), who marked his 30th anniversary with the soap in November 2021.

Also coming up, viewers will see an episode filled with flashbacks of Michael’s life. It will also explore his relationships with Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman), Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E Bregman).

Y&R spoilers tease that after winning a big case, Michael will tell Lauren he feels as though he’s reached the apex of his career. “One phrase keeps going around in my mind – quit while you’re ahead.”

Y&R Daily Scoop – Lauren Fenmore Calls Reinforcements

Christine, who’s getting takeout at Society, will overhear. “Retire?” she’ll ask. Michael will invite her to join them. There’ll be a flashback to Christine’s first job, at Michael’s law firm. “You have certainly come a long way since then,” she’ll comment. Michael will say he underestimated her. She took him to court after he crossed the line, which he’ll admit he deserved. But they’ll talk about how she gave him a second chance and they even started a law firm together.

Victor will appear and Lauren will tell him they’re celebrating Michael’s victory. Plus, he’s thinking of retiring as District Attorney. Michael will ask Victor what he thinks. “Who do you think you’re talking to?” Victor will ask. “You’d be bored out of your skull in three weeks.” He’ll tell him to follow his example. “Why don’t you join Newman Media?” Michael will say he doesn’t want to be at Victor’s beck and call. Then there’ll be a flashback to when Victor fired him.

Once Victor departs, Lauren will say she called in reinforcements. Gloria, Kevin and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will arrive. Lauren will mention that his best friend Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) couldn’t make it. Gloria will admit she wasn’t exactly the best mother. And another flashback will ensue. “It took me a while but you all have to admit I’ve grown into my role,” Gloria will say. “Of Lady Macbeth?” Kevin will quip.

Young And The Restless Scoop – The Only Opinion That Matters To Him

After some Kevin and Michael flashbacks, Kevin will say they need to focus on the future. And Lauren will agree. Even though the reminiscing has been lovely, she called them there for a reason. Michael is considering retirement. All three will have differing opinions but after they leave, Michael will tell Lauren they made him realize hers is the only opinion that matters.

They’ll then flashback to their first kiss, their wedding and when Lauren found out she was pregnant with their son. Lauren will tell Michael that no matter what he decides, she feels like they’re going to be okay. He’ll say he’s already made up his mind. “It’s clear that I need to retire. Because spending more time with you will make me the happiest.”
